Last week when I was in Wellington, the nearest city I splurged on a lot of art materials – papers, pens, paints etc. The item I was most excited about was the journal I brought. I had one like last year, it was lovely to work in, the paper is 150gm so you can really be rough with it. It doesnt warp and bubble. The local shops said they dont make it anymore, which I found out was a lie the shop in Wellingtonsaid it is still made. Any way I brought 5. (Luckily they were cheap!
Today I did my first journal page in it. I decided to follow the prompt I found on Heidi Illustrates where Catherine Constance was interviewed. She is one of my favourite illustrators. When she is stuck she draws a circle. So I cut two circles from my stash of watercolour splashes and hey presto.
Today I am going to link to Manon’s Paper Saturdays

Glad you found your journal… 🙂

Gorgeous journal page, full of happy details and colours that ‘zing’. I like the idea of just drawing a circle as a prompt, or cutting some out of unused scraps as you did. Lovely illustration that goes so well with the wording. Always nice to find a new blog like yours – thanks to Paper Saturdays.
